Like most offices - there's always those people...you know the ones....who like to act a fool and then pretend it's everyone elses issue. In my office there are battle lines drawn - those of us who just want to do our jobs, act professional and go about our lives and those who consider the F word to be part of every sentence. Try explaining that to a customer or vendor.
Trust me I'm no angel, I have my fair share of slips up. But there's a time and a place.
However, when one of the parties wants to complain about the noise and how people ask - I can't help but think "What the HELL are you thinking?! YOU are the problem!!". Of course I can't say that - but I'd sure like to.
So my question - how do you deal with it? I can't tell this person that if they want a change maybe they should look at how they act, speak and generally treat people in the office. I can't tell them that the minute they open their mouth the rest of the cringe and roll our eyes. And I certainly can't tell them that THEY are my greatest professional regret {for real}.
So I smile and nod, pretend like I care, and suggest they invest in some more music. Ugh - Vent Over!
